#191 Old Believers Cross

Description

This cross has the eight ended Golgotha cross on it that is checkered. The monogram UPb [King of Glory] is at the top. The monograms IC XC [Jesus Christ] are on the lateral ends of the beam. The Golgotha is shown at the foot of the cross in the form of a checkered triangle inside of a chaplet. The bottom of the cross has the monogram MPN [misspelled, should be MAPE] which means “ The place of the skull has become Paradise. The back of the cross has the first verse of Psalm 68 “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered, let those also that hate Him flee before Him”. Circa 1600s
