#27- This is an Old Believers cross

Description

This cross has rounded ends and there is a radiant crown around the middle with beams in the form of pellets. The eight ended Golgotha cross with the spear and the vinegar stick is on the front. The top of the cross has the monogram UP CB [King of Glory]. The monograms IC XC {Jesus Christ] are on the lateral ends of the beams. Adam’s skull in the cave is at the foot of the Golgotha cross. The ends of the cross have a chaplet on them. The back of the cross has a cross with rhombic ends and center depicting Christ’s five wounds. Circa 1600s
